2024 Honda CR-V EV Hybrid, Models, Redesign

2024 Honda CR-V EV Hybrid, Models, Redesign – Mini-crossovers like the CR-V of 2024 Honda killed the family sedan, but not because of a lack of attention. The CR-V and its ilk are well-liked by our panel because they are comfortable, roomy, and reasonably fuel-efficient in the case of Honda. This year, the 2024 Honda CR-V EV Hybrid receives a minor facelift, and a new CR-V Hybrid joins the competition.

The 2024 Honda CR-V EV Hybrid is only available with all-wheel drive in the same model levels as the CR-V. You get better performance and a smoother ride for $1,200 more than a comparably equipped Honda CR-V. The CR-V makes up for its lack of an outgoing personality with practicality. There are more than 40 inches of legroom in the back seats for up to five people.

The Honda CR-V has a striking appearance, but it lacks the boldness of the Toyota RAV4 or the Mazda CX-5. An appealing character line runs up from the rear hatch of the Honda, where it meets a similar line on the front bumper. Most levels come standard with big 18-inch wheels, but the Touring adds new 19-inch wheels that look positively luxurious.

The CR-V is an Ultimate Safety Pick by the IIHS, and federal testers also gave it high marks. Active safety features, including automatic emergency braking, are standard on all CR-Vs. There’s only one USB connector and a 5-inch LCD for audio in the base CR-V models.

In either leather or without, we prefer the EX model. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a 7.0-inch touchscreen, blind-spot monitors, a power-adjustable driver seat, and heated front seats are features included in this model.

2024 Honda CR-V EV Hybrid Engine

Honda’s 2024 CR-V EV Hybrid powertrain options ranging from good to better. They cover the range from good to even better. The power output from the standard 1.5-liter turbo-4 is adequate, but its gift is fuel economy. Fuel efficiency is even better in the CR-V Hybrid and has more power. Driving either one is a breeze.

The CR-V is rated a 5 out of 5. There are no penalties here. It has a 1.5-liter turbo-4 that produces 190 horsepower and 171 pound-feet of torque. Depending on the model’s options, it shifts through a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) to power the front or all four wheels. For short commutes in and out of town, the rapid, low-rpm response of the available energy is ideal.

While the CVT tries to keep the CR-V economical, most models only manage approximately 30 mpg combined. When properly equipped, the turbo-4 can pull up to 1,500 pounds. The 2.0-liter inline-4 gas engine in the CR-V Hybrid is primarily responsible for powering the lithium-ion battery that powers the electric motors.

Honda says this rarely happens, but the gas engine can clutch in manually driving the wheels. In comparison to the gas-only CR-V, the Hybrid’s 212 hp output is nearly inaudible, but its trick is its fuel economy: the EPA rates it at 38 mpg combined. Hybrid models are exclusively unrestricted by the all-wheel industry, and they are more refined than the standard CR-V model.
