2024 Honda Prologue SUV Interior, Colors, Changes – The 2024 Honda Prologue SUV is the midsize, two-row cousin of the three-row Pilot. Thanks to a higher suspension and more comprehensive approach and departure angles, its more rugged appearance indicates its more excellent off-road capability.
It is up against a slew of two-row midsize crossovers, including the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the Subaru Outback, and the Toyota 4Runner. While the Prologue has off-road ambitions, its roomy cabin and comprehensive safety measures win most of its points.
2024 Honda Prologue Redesign
The 2024 Honda Prologue SUV undergoes a slight facelift for the 2024 model year, with the front end looking more truck-like. It has been restyled from the A-pillar forward, with a new hood and squared-off grille, giving the Prologue a more Ridgeline-like look than the Pilot. Additionally, a new rear bumper was built to allow larger exhaust ports (though the sound will remain the same).
The wheel designs are unique and measure up to 20 inches in diameter. Honda Performance Development (HPD) has released a new styling kit. Additionally, a new TrailSport trim option has been added to the Prologue to give it a more rugged appearance, while it currently lacks off-road capabilities.
The Pilot’s 280-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 engine, and nine-speed automatic gearbox are retained in the Prologue. Front-wheel drive is standard on the EX-L, while all-wheel purpose is standard on the TrailSport and Elite. Updates to features are infrequent and infrequent. Things improve when you reach the back seat; the bench provides adequate support, and there are 39.6 inches of rear legroom—enough space for even three adults to sit comfortably.
The Prologue has a load space of 41.2 cubic feet behind the back seat, which increases to 77.7 cubic feet when the rear seat is folded. There is also a large storage container hidden beneath the floor, which is ideal for storing wet or muddy gear that does not want to damage the carpeted areas.
The 3.5-liter V-6 engine and nine-speed automatic gearbox found in the Prologue SUV are shared with various Honda vehicles. The 280-horsepower engine is more than adequate for daily driving, but the 9-speed automatic transmission may sometimes be a step behind due to delayed downshifts. Despite its off-road appearance, the Prologue is best suited for highway driving, where its quiet cabin and comfy ride allow it to rack up miles quickly.
It will willingly scramble over Moab’s red rocks but is more concerned with reaching the trailhead than picking the best path down. Sand, snow, and mud are three off-road driving modes that affect the powertrain’s behavior and traction control settings. Prologues with all-wheel drive have a ground clearance of 8.1 inches, but it’s hard to crawl around because there is no transfer case or locking axles.
2024 Honda Prologue Release Date and Price
In 2024, the Prologue SUV will phase out the Sport and Touring trim levels in favor of the EX-L. Its price has also climbed, with the entry-level Prologue now retailing for $39,095 (compared to less than $34,000 for a Sport a year ago). All-wheel drive is an additional $2,100. The Trailsport is priced at $43,695, while the Elite is priced at $45,430. Both models come standard with all-wheel drive.
