Honda Prologue EV 2024 SUV Concept, Model, Electric

Honda Prologue EV 2024 SUV Concept, Model, Electric – The Honda Prologue EV is a well-rounded, value-packed crossover SUV created primarily with American families in mind and for urban environments.

With its compact class and gasoline and hybrid models, the Prologue competes with the Toyota RAV4, Mazda CX-5, and many others in many competition segments.

As with many of its competitors, the Prologue EV has a modern look, a roomy and well-equipped interior, and high safety standards, making it a solid choice as a daily family car.

Gas-only models are powered by a quiet but efficient turbo-four engine with 190 horsepower. In comparison, hybrids are equipped with a four-cylinder engine augmented by two electric motors for 212 horsepower.

With only a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and a basic all-wheel drivetrain, it can feel pretty ordinary to drive, even though it is composed and reasonably polished.

Honda Prologue EV 2024 Redesign

In 2024, Honda will offer the Touring model of the Prologue lineup with standard all-wheel drive. There are no more improvements or modifications to the Honda Prologue EV 2024 crossover, possibly due to the massive redesign of the fifth-generation Honda in 2024. Its simple design makes it clear that it is meant to be a practical family cruiser.

Standard equipment includes multi-reflector halogen headlights, motorized side mirrors, and a roofline spoiler. EV models feature LED front fog lights and a power-operated sunroof. The Touring is the sole gas variant that includes LED headlights as standard equipment, while the hybrid EV and EV-L have them as standard equipment. The Touring is equipped with roof rails and dual chrome exhaust tips.

EV and Special Edition vehicles have machined-finish 17-inch alloy wheels; EV and EV-L models have 18-inch alloy wheels, and Touring models have 19-inch alloy wheels. The Prologue can be made to look better in some ways, such as with tailgate spoilers, gloss black grilles and trim accents, and fender emblems.

Interior Design

Given the pricing range, Honda has done a fantastic job with the Honda Prologue EV 2024 interior. It has a sophisticated appearance and feels in addition to being roomy and ergonomic. There are a few instances where more rigid plastics are utilized, although they are largely unnoticeable. They add a layer of durability to the Prologue’s interior so that an active family can use it for a long time.

In some international markets, the Prologue EV is available in a seven-seat configuration, but in the United States, only five passengers may be accommodated with ample space. In terms of equipment, the entry-level EV model is a little barebone. Still, extras like front-seat heating and power adjustment, dual-zone automatic climate control, and leather upholstery enhance the driving experience in higher-tier models.

The driver is equipped with an excellent outward view and ample flexibility for achieving an ideal driving position. The EX trim adds front seat heating and 12-way power-adjustability for the driver’s seat.

The Prologue has space for up to five passengers, although only four adults can travel comfortably; the middle rear seat is best suitable for youngsters. Adults over six feet tall will be comfortable in any of the other seats with a wide 41.3 inches of legroom in the front and 40.4 inches in the rear.

Engine Performance

In 2024, Honda made the classic 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine standard for the whole ICE Prologue lineup. It generates 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft of torque, routed through a continuously variable automatic transmission to the Prologue’s front-wheel drivetrain or optional all-wheel drivetrain.

In terms of performance, the turbocharger gives just enough power for pleasant off-the-line acceleration and city driving. At more incredible speeds, acceleration responses become more delayed, but not to an intolerable degree. The CVT’s progressive responses complement the Prologue’s straightforward and pragmatic nature.

The Prologue Hybrid is powered by a beefier 2.0-liter four-cylinder i-VTEC Atkinson-cycle engine that has been coupled with two electric motors to provide a total of 212 horsepower. The machine has 143 horsepower and 129 pound-feet of torque, while the starter/generator motor and propulsion motor each have 181 horsepower and 232 pound-feet.

Additionally, a standard electronic CVT transmits power to all four wheels. In urban environments where low-down torque is applicable, the additional power generated by the hybrid powertrain is noticeable. The engine still seems somewhat depleted while accelerating to motorway speeds and initiating overtakes.
